Bakrač Vladimir – NikšićTheoretical aprouch to similarity and diferences between Religion and nation

Religion and nation are concepts and phenomena that many acknoledqued and famaus authors have dealt with. We all know something about the religion and nation if we think about them as separate concepts. But we know far less about them if we look at them as connected concepts. That is why we have decided to focus on the relationship between these two concepts important for both an individual and the society. We do not pretend to say something completely new. What we have tried to do is reflecting and thinking over what others have already said, building on what others have already made and achieved and the renewal of partially forgotten and neglected ideas finally, we have tried to...

Приштина-ЛепосавићADOLESCENTS' RELIGIONESS IN THE NORTH OF KOSOVOSUMMARY

The basic purpose of the research is to get insight into levels of religionness, as well as dominant forms of religious behavior of adolescents in Kosovska Mitrovica, ten years after the bombardment followed by coming of international military troops to Kosovo and Metohija territory. We tried to determine if and to what extent the basic component of religionness – religious behavior (embodied in participating in performing ordinances, church visits, celebrating slava, having crosses, icons and other religious artifacts in possession in household, giving donations for church...) is followed by other aspects of...

Doboj, BiHTHE ESSENCE OF JUDGING THE GOOD AND THE EVILAbstract

Modern times are characterized by the abundance of philosophical, scientific and theological thinking, sometimes completely opposing one another. Therefore, it is unreliable for realization. And man is a rational being whose existence depends on the power of his mind to judge the good and the evil, and the actions that are useful or harmful for its existence. For, it is the effort with which it is trying to prolong its existence that is the essence and the highest virtue of every being, including man, and human community. Spinoza says: Nobody can wish to be happy (blessed), to work well, to live well, without at the same time wishing to exist, to work, to live, in other words, to really exist. (...). The...

Substitution of Bible's ethical motifs with motifs of heroism in oral literatureSummary:

Because of the influence it used to exert through Christianity on the living moral practice of the Western culture, the Bible can in the context of the European culture be regarded as the main resource of ethics and morality. Thus, it's interesting to analyse the use of biblical motives in the epic heroic oral literature through relation towards the folk hero. As the hero is the symbol of community defender against any negative influence, his behaviour in the community is always justified. So, biblical motives always appear with the folk hero if his behaviour is moral and in congruence with biblical ethics. Yet, if the folk hero behaves in congruence...

Novi SadEDUCATION ON RELIGIONS AND TOLEDO PROCESSAbstract

Ten basic principles defined by the OSCE/ODIHRa are presented as recommended to participating states to be used as criteria for designing qualitative education on religions. The aims and the contents of the Toledo principles are presented and analyzed as aimed to be guiding while designing programs of education on religions rather than as education on doctrines of particular religion. The author presented very similar recommendations of the Council of Europe and some other international documents which are all unison regarding need of designing neutral, non doctrinal education of sociology, history and culture of religions. The expectations of such...

BUILDING BRIDGESAn Analysis of How Religion Can Be Used to Heal Societal Wounds along Racial and Political LinesSummary

Topic of this paper is how religion can be used to achieve political and racial reconciliation. The main thesis is while we have seen the power of religion to be used as a way to divide society and cause conflict, there is also the potential to achieve reconciliation along both political and racial lines, which seem to have become intrinsically interconnected. The paper will explore religion as an agent of societal division, introduce conflict based in religious differences and explain the idea that religion is not necessarily the cause of conflict, but is used to escalate it. There is...

In the past ages, the conversion of the Jews was, at least in principle, always welcomed by the Christian side. Yet, ethical awakening after the Holocaust, the new self-critical attitude toward anti-Judaism in Christian theology, and the new perspectives in biblical studies which show that earliest Christianity was an integral part of the first-Century Judaism – all these factors influenced the position of numerous Protestant Churches and the Roman Catholic Church regarding their mission among the Jews. As a result, some Churches (or...

The idea of neutrality is a keyword in the history of freedom of religion and conscience. Without State neutrality, the full recognition of these liberties is not possible. The main task will be to construct a definition of the concept of neutrality, from historical experience and a Comparative Law perspective. The jurisprudence of the European Court of Human Rights shows a possible way of understanding the principle of neutrality. It is not the only one possible. After centuries of religious wars, Europe wants to find a harmonic framework of coexistence...
