RELIGION AND YOUNG PEOPLE

Summary

This work presents information about the attutudes of students toward religion, religious leaders and their influence. A questionnare was conducted among the Faculty of philosophy students in Novi Sad, who gave written answers. Quotes in the article show young people's comprehension of their families, religious influences, formation of their views on God, church and life in general. The results of that questionarre show that young people have deep thoughts on religious issues. They contemplate the purpose of life, which in turn directs them to seek for answers in religion. Encounters with mediators between God and humans form critical stance of young people toward their own religions. They do recognize the importance of religion in a society and their own lives. However, they also see weak points and wide potentials that religous leaders may have in order to help young generations.
