Dr Tomislav BrankovicMinistry of Religious AffairsBelgradeNew religious movementsSummary

New religious movements, like a newer and growing in use term in observing activities of different religious groups, communities and organizations, is considered in at least two meanings. Thier main characteristic is that theu offer an exit from social and personal crisis to an individual.

New religious movements appear in the form of cults, pseudo-christian sects, most often as marginal newprotestants, occultistic and magic groups, different forms of yoga and meditation, far-east sects-pseudohinduistic sects and commercial cults. All these movements had a fertile ground to develop in the Former Yugoslav Republics, especially Serbia. Beside Churches and religious communities rooted in history...

Milica AleksicNovi SadJews in Novi SadSummary

The history of the ancient Jewish people is wrapped by mysticism and unknown, partly by the antiquity and partly by the circumstances Jews were in. In order to study Jewish community of today, it is necessary to get deeper into the historical records which describe in detail the history of the Jews and the conditions in which their community began and developed. Significant elements could also be found, in the rich historical archive, that could be used to answer questions that are of our interest and which motivate us to do research, and those questions are related to the possibility of survival of the religion among the nations with tendencies of their numbers decreasing. There is also the question of keeping the integrity of such...

Srđan BarišićBeogradSummaryJews in Belgrade

Jewish community in Belgrade has shared the bitter history of our capital city, and its historical position displayed the position of our society on the international scale, and on local daily-politics field, as well. For Jews, Balkan was often a good shelter for numerous pursuits, but, also, it was a nest for those who pursuited them. During the numerous migrations, from Iberian peninsula, till the settlement of Izrael, Jews were often travelling through Balkan. Some stayed, some kept travelling on, but certain number of them stayed here forming not numerous, but significant ethnic and confessional group. Today, Belgrade is pale dot on the map of dispersed Jews, and they are hardly noticeable. In this article we shall try to point out only...

Zorica Kuburić, Ph.D.Philosophical faculty,Novi Sad.RELIGIOUS COMMUNIY IN SERBIA AND RELIGIOUS DISTANCESummary

Query about the happiness of those who are different in their given or ascribed identity, those who believe differently and belong to another "god", started at an early age, in elementary school, when I first met children who were rejected for emphasizing their religious identity. Before the collapse of the communist ideology, religiousness was generally marginalized and believers were a minority irrespective of their confession. However, with the onset of the 1990s, religiousness became desirable, as did, naturally, affiliation to the majority religion. I shall attempt to review the current situation in the religious sphere in general, by looking at it from several different...

Dejan Pralica, MAPhilosophical facultyNovi SadReligious and ideological aspects in the discourse of epistlesSummary

The aim of this work was to check the amount of religious and ideological aspects in the discourse of epistles, with respect to the period when they were written, the people who participated in their writing and their type. I see the epistle as the written message of the religious leader to the clergy and the believers, which acts in a certain context, reflecting political, social and cultural aspects of the time when it was written.

Since it is thematically specified – Christmas/Easter, it is a part of religious discourse. The ideological component can be seen in the authorship: linguistically it is impossible to claim who is the real writer of the epistle. There is a...

Novi Sad

KOINONIA AND EKKLESIE

SUMMARY

In this article, the author examines the ecclesiological and sociological aspects of the concept of fellowship in the light of the Imago Dei. Also, he considers the Eucharist as the most central symbol of fellowship of believers in which the believer enters into relationship both with God and with others. The relationship which is key in this covenant is in fact a foretaste of a future fellowship, a fellowship which is a symbol of eternal, personal fellowshipping with the Triune God.

Key words: Fellowship, church, Eucharist, Holy Trinity.

Željko KaluđerovićFaculty of philosophyNovi SadThe God of the Stagira PhilosopherAbstract

In this paper the author analyzes Aristotle's specific understanding of God, primarily from the perspective of the twelfth book of the Metaphysics. The God of the Stagira philosopher, it is emphasized, is not something truly transcending the world, but present in all aspects of Greek life and slates of Greek reality. Aristotle's God did not even create the world, which has always been and always will be, it has only provided the eternal movement through the movement of the first heaven by thinking and through final cause. The Unmoved Mover, as the object of desire moves all things by being loved. His God is also totally depersonalized which makes it unjustified to put a capital letter when...

In life, there are certain "constants of our mentality" which show as disturbances for understanding, trust and making peace between nations, belief and culture. Those hard patterns of thought, belief and behavior (national, political, cultural), about which we will be discussing here, and they are: traditionalism, authoritarian mentality, political non/culture, anti intellectualism, prejudice, absence of critical public and lingual forms. Very well known French historian Fernan Brodel would say that these terms are longer lasting
