CHRISTIAN DIAKONY IN EUROPE
Summary
Basic content and message of Christianity directly refer to advancement of human relationship and community. In Christianity love toward close ones (diakony) has its roots in love toward God. It is the most important task of every Christian, and of the whole ecclesiastic community as well, on all levels. In order to represent and established form of service diakony has to be organized. In Europe Christian diakony start in 1930s. The aim of the work is to perceive the development of organization of Christian diakony in Europe and also to realize the essential guidelines of its activity. The examples of practical action of the diakony in some European countries as well as in Serbia are given. Christian diakony is quite active in Europe and it marks the path of reconciliation between people, nations and believers. It tries to bring back peace, freedom and dignity to every endangered individual.
